Hey, today I bought a BIKE! It’s it beautiful! I have wanted a bike for a while- like at least 4 or 5 months and last night I dreamed I had one. I was very happy until I had a flat tire. In my dream, I thought it was because I was fat. But I decided not to let that stop me when I started looking today. The first place I went was Target. Now, I love Target. Really there is NO ONE who loves Target more than me, but, and I hate to admit this, Target is not the place to buy a bike. You get NO help. Zero. Zilch. So when I came home I googled “bike shop” in my zip code and a place named Metropolis Bikes came up. Well, if you ever need a bike, I will be the first one to tell you to go to Metropolis. I love my bike. And I loved everyone there. They all seemed hip in that pierced/tattooed way, and I am neither of those things, so I was initially sort of nervous. But they couldn’t have been nicer. I bought a single speed bike- which is exactly what I wanted and I didn’t know if they made anymore (except for kids.) The brakes work when you pedal backwards. Just like my last blue bike that I got for Christmas in the 4th Grade! I added a basket and a mirror to my new bike and I rode around the neighborhood. It felt so good in so many ways: good for the earth, good for for my wallet (gas-wise,) and good for my heart (both physically and emotionally.) I’m not recommending that you buy something every time you are sad, but boy howdy, it did wonders for me today. Pretty soon I’ll get myself a beret for my head, a baguette for my basket and a beau for my lady treasures. And I’ll ride around this lovely Metropolis with the wind in my hair and just feel GOOD.

You MUST choose an adorable name for such an adorable bike. Whaddya think?
I had a bike I loved while in Chicago. Her name was Trinket. I knew Brian was the guy for me when he told me that his bike’s name was Allegory.
